Xuyuan TAO, Ph.D.

Dr Xuyuan TAO was born in 1981 at Shanghai in China. He holds BSc degrees in Textile Product Design from Donghua University and Automation from Shanghai Jiaotong University, China. He holds MSc degree in Textile Material from Donghua University, China and Automation from the Lille University of Science and Technology, France. He holds Textile Engineering Degree from ENSAIT, France. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2010 at the Lille University of Science and Technology in Villeneuve d’Ascq, France, in the field of the Automation. Since September in 2011 he works as associate professor at ENSAIT (Textile Engineering Institute in Roubaix, France) in the HCD (Human Centred Design) research group in GEMTEX laboratory.

Dr Xuyuan TAO has extensively involved in the research of multifunctional and intelligent textiles, flexible sensors & actuators, smart textile structures, human-machine interface and virtual textile. His current interests lie the areas of smart textile, wearable textile and machine learning in textile fields.

He has participated a number of European Framework collaborative projects (H2020, Erasmus+, Interreg V, etc.) and French national funded projects (ANR, FUI, CIFRE, etc.) He has authored and co-authored over 60 scientific publications (SCI), and book chapters. He is also the invited reviewer of several international SCI indexed scientific journals, such as TRJ, IEEE Sensors, IEEE Access, Sensors, Electronics, Fibers, IJCST, etc.
