2018 organizing committee of Shanghai Textile Graduate International Summer School, Writing: QUAN Jing Translation: ZHANG Chenglong
In the ninth day of summer school, professor Xiangyang LIU of the physics department of the National University of Singapore and professor Gang Sun of the University of California, Davis and professor Frank Ko of the university of Columbia, Canada continued to appreciate the charm of textile with the students and learn from each other.
In the morning, Professor Xiangyang LIU described the application of flexible electronic sensors. By displaying pictures, he explained the neck muscle pronunciation motion sensing, respiratory motion sensing, temperature sensors, intelligent flexible electronics and big health flexible smart wearable materials: smart clothes, smart shoes, intelligent insoles for real-time tracking data. After that, the professor played two videos showing the flexible conductive film, electric/thermal deformable technology, electric/thermochromic technology. The students were interested in this kind of black technology and asked questions actively and were answered by the professor patiently.
Professor Sun Gang began his first lecture. First of all, professor SUN gave the lecture from the definition of textile chemistry to the basic classification. Textile chemistry is widely used in organic chemistry, physics and computational chemistry, photochemistry and environmental chemistry. By showing chart, professor SUN explained the reasons for the cotton fabric crosslinking reaction used to resist wrinkles, the poor light resistance of silk fabrics, the reasons for the difference of wool fabric and silk light resistance, and artificial spider silk, etc.
In the afternoon, Professor Frank Ko kindly started the second lecture - nanofiber technology. The professor first introduced the definition of nanofibers and the development of nanofiber technology. After that, the professor began to describe the structure and preparation of nanofibers, and explained the applications of nanofibers and examples of products such as flexible displays, flexible solar cells and so on. Finally, the professor asked questions and the students expressed their opinions actively.
