On July 4, 2019, Shanghai International Textile Graduate Summer School hosted by the Shanghai Academic Degrees Committee and Donghua University opened at the Second Report Hall at Songjiang Campus of Donghua University. After the opening ceremony, Professor Bugao Xu from Texas State University and Professor Yi Wei from Donghua University delivered wonderful theme lectures. Professor Bugao Xu introduced the application of image technology in textile and garment measurement, and benefited the students a lot by a large number of examples. Professor Yi Wei explained the development status and trends of advanced composite materials in the fields of aerospace, military and textile, mainly from the definition of advanced composite materials, the application of combination with textiles, research examples, its development history, current situation and trend. As well as the new requirements for textiles, which shows the extensive use and great promise of textile industry.

In the afternoon, the class continued in the 1125 classroom in Songjiang Campus, and the two professors brought wonderful courses. Professor Yingjiao Xu from the University of North Carolina, USA, interacted enthusiastically with the students. First of all, the professor asked the students to introduce each other and deepen their understanding. Students from various schools communicated in fluent English and brought them closer together. After discussions, Professor Xu introduced her personal situation, hobbies and research areas, and briefly introduced North Carolina State University. After that, Professor Xu began to explain in detail the definition and content of consumer behavior. According to the current concept of sharing economy and mobile payment, the concept of consumer behavior is explained to students, emphasizing that consumer behavior is a comprehensive process including acquisition, use and processing. Professor Jinsong Shen from the Textile Engineering and Materials Research Group at De Montfort University in the UK brought a series of functional and sustainable textile innovations courses to the students, specifically the preparation and chemical finishing of traditional textiles, including: singeing, desizing / washing, bleaching and mercerizing. All the students showed great passion. Everyone listens carefully and actively interacts with the teacher.
