Today is the ninth day of summer school. With the light rain, the
students walked out of the classroom and went to the Yan'an Road campus to
visit the Shanghai Textile and Apparel Museum to start this amazing journey!
Shanghai Textile and Apparel Museum is divided into six parts: science
museum, ancient museum, modern museum, ethnic minority museum, audio-visual
space and mobile exhibition hall.
The Science Museum adopts a dynamic and static display form, supplemented
by high-tech display means and interactive exhibition items, which displays the
industrial chain and its characteristic links in the field of textile and
apparel, and popularizes textile fabric foundation, textile technology and
costume culture knowledge, and leads visitors to modern textiles and clothing.
Theancient museum displays pictures and objects
from the Stone Age, Xia dynasty,Shang dynasty,Zhou dynasty,
Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period to the Ming and Qing
Dynasties. It is a microcosm of the history of China's textile and apparel, and
also shows us the unique insights and class distinctions of the ancient
textiles. The modern pavilion part consists of modern textile costumes and
pictures. The exhibits include traditional Chinese clothing, as well as
accessories and some fabrics. The ethnic minority pavilion displays the textile
crafts and costumes of some ethnic minorities with physical objects, pictures,
scenes and multimedia.
The students visited the museum's exhibits with great interest. Each
exhibit is a symbol of the times. It shuttles through the development process
of textiles from ancient times to the present, and feels the shock of textiles
and the vitality of the textile industry.
