On July 14, 2019, the 2019 Shanghai International
Textile Graduate Summer School
came to the last day. The students arrived at the first lecture hall early,
waiting for the arrival of the professors. Today, Professor Martin W. King and
Professor Qin Xiaohong gave lectures to the students of the summer school and the
students of the undergraduate summer camp. They introduced the development
status of medical textile materials and the enrollment of master students and
doctoral students.
In the morning, Professor Martin W. King brought a general
overview about advanced medical textile materials to the students and
introduced the implantable medical equipment in detail, which aroused great
interests among undergraduate students. The enthusiasm for interaction with
questions lasted a long time. Later, Professor Xiaohong Qin explained the
enrollment of the master students and doctoral students of our school. She
introduced the major teaching achievements of our school over the years, and
showed the research results which let students in other schools saw the
strength of Donghua University. Finally, Professor Xiaohong Qin introduced the tutors
of our institute one by one, and explained their research works in detail. The students
asked many questions about the tutors whose research attracted them, and got
great responses. Professor Qin said that Donghua University takes elite
education as its responsibility and eagerly looks forward to their joining.
In the afternoon, Professor Tushar K. Ghosh from North
Carolina State University and student representatives were invited to give a
concluding speech. In the ensuing literary and artistic performance, students
from Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran and other countries were invited to
attend. The multi-talented students of Jilin University, Hebei University,
Nantong University and other universities brought a cultural feast to the professors,
which aroused the enthusiasm of the textile students from different
nationalities and regions. The students and volunteers who performed well in
summer school were commended and encouraged to work tirelessly on the road of
scientific research and to carry forward good characters.
