On July 9, 2020, the fourth day of Shanghai Textile Graduate International Summer School, students continued to welcome the new day of study with full enthusiasm. Today, Professor Martin W. King and Professor Xu Yingjiao from North Carolina State University, Professor Tao Xuyuan from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Industries Textiles and Professor Shen Jinsong from de Montfort University in the United Kingdom teached the students knowledge and leaded them to explore the mysteries of textile world.

In the morning, Professor Martin W. King explained the application of textile materials in tissue engineering. Professor Martin W. King introduced the methods of making tissue engineering scaffolds and the characteristics of tissue engineering scaffolds, and then explained in detail some specific tissue engineering scaffolds, such as woven tissue engineering scaffolds, knitted tissue engineering scaffolds, flocking tissue engineering scaffolds, multi tissue tissue engineering scaffolds, tendon connecting scaffolds, etc. Finally, the professor introduced the properties of tissue engineering scaffolds in detail, so that students can see the broad application prospects of textile in tissue engineering. Professor Xu Yingjiao explained the consumption decision-making model for the students, and introduced each process of consumption decision-making with vivid examples.

In the afternoon, Professor Tao Xuyuan introduced the history, definition and classification of smart textiles, as well as some materials used for smart textiles. He also introduced the students into the world of smart textiles with specific examples. Professor Shen Jinsong explained to the students the development of sustainable textile innovative technology, and introduced in detail plasma technology and laser technology of surface treatment, self-cleaning surface technology based on lotus leaf effect and photocatalytic coating and waterproof fabric.

One day of all English teaching challenges the students' English level, but their learning enthusiasm is not affected at all, and they are still full of passion and perseverance in the classroom. Hope that the students can continue to work hard and learn more knowledge in the limited class hours.
