Unconsciously, the summer school has been on the fifth day. Today, Professor Bugao Xu from the University of North Texas, Professor Yingjiao Xu from North Carolina State University, Professor Xuyuan Tao from National Institute of Textile Engineers, and Professor Jinsong Shen from De Montfort University in the UK gave lectures for students and open a new chapter for everyone.

Professor Bugao Xu made a brief self-introduction and introduced some of his early work. Professor Bugao Xu is mainly committed to the study on the detection of fiber, yarn and fabric. This course introduced the fiber microscopic image analysis system and textile digital image processing technology in detail, and elaborated on some specific problems encountered in the actual research. The whole class is lively and interesting with a good atmosphere.

The second class in the morning is the third lecture of Professor Yingjiao Xu, and this is also the last lecture. The subject of this course is Market Segmentation and Target Marketing. Professor Yingjiao Xu mainly introduced the way to divide the market, the analysis of the market and the market positioning. Compared with the previous two courses, this course has more active questions and communication, which reflects the great enthusiasm of the students.

In the afternoon, Associate Professor Xuyuan Tao started his second lecture. Firstly, he introduced shape memory materials, and then introduced damping materials, piezoelectric materials and functional textile materials. They were introduced from the definition, classification and application of materials. Combined with some video materials, the related research results were displayed vividly and intuitively, which deepened the students' understanding of intelligent textiles.

In the second class, Professor Jinsong Shen continued his lecture on Advanced Textile Biotechnology and Application of enzymes in textile wet processing. Professor Shen explained the application of protease in wool, silk and nylon fibers, such as wool bio-fishing with proteases, enzymatic degumming of silk with proteases, and enzyme-catalyzed colouration of wool and nylon. Through the explanation of Professor Shen, students have gained a deep understanding of the extensive application of enzymes in textiles.

It is a fulfilled and happy day today. Half of the summer school curriculum has passed. We hope that the students will learn new things and treat every learning opportunity with full enthusiasm and good spirit.
