On the morning of July 13, the closing ceremony of the 2020 Shanghai International Textile Graduate Summer School, sponsored by Shanghai Academic Degrees Committee office and hosted by Donghua University was successfully held. Associate dean of Textile College of Donghua University Professor Xiaohong Qin, domestic and foreign teaching experts and More than 340 students from nearly 30 universities at home and abroad participated in this ceremony.

In this closing ceremony, Professor Qin, associate dean of Textile College of Donghua University, introduced school history, faculty, talent cultivation, scientific research, postgraduate education, international exchange and cooperation and so on. Meanwhile, she welcomed everyone to apply for Donghua University. Then Professor Qin released the list of outstanding students, who said that they would take the summer school completion as a new starting point for their academic studies, constantly broadening their horizons and forging ahead.

In the closing ceremony cloud visit part, the student of Donghua University named Cen Wei gave us a detailed introduction of the famous Shanghai Textile and Costume Museum of Donghua University. The museum is newly built on the foundation of the original textile history museum and costume museum of Donghua University. It is the only professional museum in China that comprehensively reflects the history, culture and scientific and technological knowledge of Chinese textile and apparel. Cen Wei introduced glass fiber and its practical application, high-performance special basketwork applied to the Jiaolong deep-sea manned submersible, artificial blood vessels applied directly to the human body, ring spinning compact aggregate spinning system that won the Second Prize of National Technological Invention, aerogel, mask and purification filter made by electrostatic spinning of nanofibers, and so on. Following her vision, we see the high-density cut protection clothes, military puncture-proof, bulletproof vest, nano fiber blended antibacterial textiles, three-dimensional braided fabric, low melting point of sound-absorbing board and car trunk plate using waste polyester, heat and fire protective clothing and preparation of lightweight, high strength carbon fiber composite material used in automobile, surfboard, wind power blades. We have fully felt the development achievements and infinite charm of the first-class textile discipline, and have been more determined and responsible to devote ourselves to the first-class textile research and help the development of the textile industry.

Finally, Professor Qin delivered the closing speech and made a concluding speech. First of all, she would like to thank the experts and professors at home and abroad who participated in this summer school. At the same time, she would like to thank the students from nearly 30 schools for their support and participation. She gave a brief review and summary of the summer school and pointed out that it was not only a gathering of young science and technology reserve talents in the field of textile, but also a grand gathering of knowledge and wisdom, which set up a platform for students to discuss academic frontier, consolidate professional foundation and exchange scientific research experience. She hopes that Donghua University can be the key to open another academic door for students, and wishes all teachers and students to keep their original aspiration of serving the country through scientific research and continue to climb the academic peak.

Shanghai International Textile Graduate Summer School has been successfully held for nine times until now. On the platform of the summer school, teachers and students have explored the frontier of summer, consolidated the professional foundation, and exchanged scientific research experience. Wonderful and fruitful results have been achieved.

So far, the eight-day Shanghai International Textile Graduate Summer School in 2020 drew to a successful close. If you work hard, you will reap; if you pay hard, you will gain something. The numerous students will come back with full load. I believe that they will be able to make further progress in the future academic and scientific research.
