On July 2, professor XU Bugao from the University of North Texas, Professor YU Chongwen from Donghua University, Professor Hugh Gong from the University of Manchester, and Professor SHEN Jinsong from De Montfort University, UK, delivered the academic presentation.
Professor XU Bugao brought theme lectures of textile digital image technology, he introduces fiber microscopic image analysis system, measurement of fiber length double method and the resulting fiber length distribution, yarn hairiness measure multiple points of view, the objective evaluation of fabric performance system, and so on. Students' understanding of textile digital image technology and its application is enhanced.
Professor YU Chongwen introduced the simulation of fiber movement in drafting, and the research aim is virtual spinning and intelligent spinning. He narrated from three parts: the simulation of random arrangement of fibers in the yarn, the movement of fibers in drafting and the mixing of fibers in drafting. The example of computer simulation vividly shows the simulation results and deepens the students' understanding of simulation technology.
Professor Hugh Gong introduced textile testing on the topics of "Statistics, Accuracy and Precision". He introduced the most important statistical process - sampling, detailed explanation of simple random sampling, stratified sampling, systematic sampling, group sampling, the specific implementation of these four sampling methods and their respective characteristics. At the same time, it summarizes the difference between error and error, the reason of occurrence and the method of avoiding error and reducing experimental error. Professor Gong also introduced data analysis of variance, interval estimation, distribution test. He hoped students to always bear in mind the importance of sample size, sampling methods, accuracy and precision, number of repetitions, confidence, analysis of variance, and distribution tests in the statistical process.
Professor SHEN Jinsong gave a lecture on the application of enzymes in wet textile processing. He related the mechanism and function characteristics of enzyme, introduced the enzymes in the textile industry and its classification. The specific application of enzyme in desizing, scouring, bleaching and dyeing process was described in detail, such as, amylase for desizing, lignin enzymes used for refining of hemp, Cellulase plays an active role in dyeing denim with Indigo Dyes.
