On July 3Professor XU Bugao from the University of North Texas, Professor Gang Sun from the University of California, Davis, Professor Hugh Gong from the University of Manchester and Professor Jinsong Shen from De Montfort University delivered an exciting academic report.

Professor XU Bugao brought the knowledge of clothing customization. From two perspectives of "standardization" and "individuation", he shared the theoretical knowledge of body scanning system and personalized clothing manufacturing. This paper introduces the point line and plane measuring instruments in human body scanning with examples, and introduces their characteristics, applications and existing problems.

Professor SUN Gang gave lectures on precision chemistry and sustainable textile dyeing and finishing process. He explained precision chemistry and sustainable textile dyeing and finishing, and hoped that precision chemistry could solve practical application problems and find technologies and products to solve problems. Professor Sun introduced the classification of natural dyes and the preparation of natural dyes by chemical synthesis and chemical finishing in detail.

On the topic of textile and apparel properties, Professor Hugh Gong gave a lecture on the importance of textile wearability, testing methods, advantages and disadvantages, and the knowledge of textile properties including pilling, and the testing and analysis of related properties, introduced which fibers are prone to pilling, and the generation and evaluation of pilling. This paper focuses on the properties of textile and garment materials, such as hand feel, bending, shear, drape, etc., and how to test these properties.

Prof. SHEN Jinsong delivered a series of lectures on "Innovative technology of Textile functionality and Sustainability", which mainly focused on the functional modification of textile surface by sol-gel. The professor explained the synthesis process of sol-gel in detail by showing six sem images of modified fiber surface. Sol-gel prepared by the above method can be applied to cotton fiber and wool to enhance the hydrophobicity of the fiber and maintain the soft feel of the fiber.
