On July 3, Professor Roohollah from Amirkabir University of Technology and Professor Gong Ronghua from the University of Manchester gave an excellent academic presentation.

With the theme of "Advanced Fiber materials", Roohollah introduced from the perspective of textile engineering, introducing the importance of textiles and textile technology, and its significance for all walks of life and social and economic development. Starting from "What is fiber material", he explained the limitations of traditional materials and the main characteristics of fiber materials, and then launched the introduction of advanced fiber materials, mainly including functional textile materials, high-performance textile materials and their applications in various fields. With vivid examples, he explained the connection between macro and micro behaviors, showing the interrelationship between fibers and fabrics, and fabrics and the human body.

With the theme of "Performance Evaluation of Textiles and Clothing", Gong Ronghua talked about the performance requirements of textiles, including strength, appearance, comfort and safety. The reasons for testing fabrics are explained, and related research and development are introduced. The methods and applicable properties of physical/mechanical test, physiological test and intelligent test are illustrated with examples. He also explained "how to test" and test standards. In the second part of his report, he explained the error problem of performance testing and the influencing factors causing the error, and introduced it to the students based on practical problems.
