On July 9, Prof. Bugao Xu from University of North Texas and Prof. Xuyuan Tao from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs des Textiles (ENST) gave a wonderful academic presentation.

Prof. Bugao Xu introduced various kinds of textile fibers and textile analysis systems under the theme of " Computer Vision Technology in Textiles", and talked about fiber micro-image analysis system (fiber cross-section analysis, fiber image fusion, double whisker method for fiber length measurement, etc.) and fabric appearance performance objective evaluation system (fabric appearance 3D imaging system, multi-scale matching scheme, etc.). He introduced the performance requirements of garment customization, showed the participants the specific process of garment customization technology, the garment visualization system, the three methods of body scanning technology and the related test instruments. He also introduced some of the results he had achieved in his research over the years, shared his valuable experience in scientific research work with the trainees. The lecture gave the students great help to their study and scientific research work.

Prof. Xuyuan Tao took " Smart Textile and their Applications" as the theme, introduced smart materials, functional materials and e-textiles, etc., which showed the colorful world of smart textiles to the students. He talked about the four levels of integrating smart materials into the textile structure, through which such methods can obtain the performance that traditional fabrics can not have, and can be used in a variety of fields such as medical, military, smart wearable, and so on, to broaden the application scenarios of textiles. Finally, the application of electronic components in smart fabrics is also introduced, including the selection of microcontrollers, advanced textile electronic connectors (snap fasteners, crimp connections, solder, embroidery, glue) and so on. Through videos and pictures, the current research and latest technology related to smart textiles are visualized, leading the participants to feel the unique charm of smart textiles.

The participants also visited the Donghua Textile Education Exhibition Hall. The Hall display the outstanding academic achievements and the advanced technology of the textile industry in recent years in the four sections of "facing the major strategic needs of the country", "facing the main battlefield of the economy", "facing the frontiers of international science and technology", and "facing the safety of people's lives and health". Participants expressed that they would strive to improve their professional level, strengthen their personal ideals and contribute to the textile industry.
