On July 11, Wang YupingDirector of the National Innovation Center for Advanced Functional Fibers, Professor Qin Xiaohong, Dean of the College of Textiles Donghua Universityand Professor Roohollah Bagherzadeh from the Amir Kabir University of Technology gave wonderful reports.

Wang Yuping detailed the innovations in high-performance computing and bio-based materials, the promotion of smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0, the development of nanotechnology and new materials, enhancing environmental sustainability and the circular economy, the development of wearable technology and smart textiles, and the exploration of new textile applications in non-traditional fields. Director Wang emphasized that national policy support and strategic directives are pivotal in driving research innovation, leading to breakthroughs in defense, medical, and environmental sectors. She also emphasized the importance of training young scientific research talents and promoting scientific and technological achievements to industrialization.

Qin Xiaohong presented an overview of College of Textiles and its graduate education programs, showcasing its role as a cradle of talent for China’s textile industry and its leading position globally. Qin introduced cutting-edge research technologies related to textiles, such as intelligent hygroscopic and perspiratory fabrics, micro and nano textile materials, biomedical textiles, textile composite materials, aerospace materials, etc., which will lead everyone to feel the charm of textiles. She warmly invited more students to join Donghua University's College of Textiles to further advance textile science and education.

Qin Xiaohong

Prof. Roohollah Bagherzadeh introduced the topic of "Gas Sensor Technology" and introduced five common gas sensor detection technologies that can detect flammable, combustible and toxic gases from the application fields of gas sensors. Sensors need to have the properties of high selectivity, high sensitivity, high stability, etc. Sensors prepared according to different principles and different structures can realize different functions of sensing performance. He communicated and interacted with the trainees, presenting the difficult and obscure knowledge in an easy-to-understand way.
